iPhone 4

Steve Jobs unveiled the the new iteration of the iPhone (iPhone 4) at the WWDC yesterday. Though some of the buzz was lost due to a leak by Gizmodo earlier this year, Apple still wowed and amazed the audience with several new improvements, including a stunning display (4x the pixels of the previous 3GS model), a 3-axis gyroscope, two mics, noise cancellation, a 5-megapixel camera and a front facing camera. With the front facing camera, users will be able to video chat with friends, though currently only on the WiFi network. With the release of the updated operating system, “iOS4,” iPhone users will be able to enjoy multitasking, folders, and custom wallpapers on their device. The new phone will also allow for hi-def video recording and in-phone editing with iMovie ($4.99). And no, sadly the iPhone will NOT be on the Verizon network (at least not yet!).

Given the excitement for the new iPhone, AT&T is offering its customers a chance to upgrade. Anyone who’s contract runs out in 2010 (even after June) is still eligible for an upgrade when the new phone releases. For those after 2010, AT&T is offering a discounted price as well. If you’re a fan of the iPhone, the iPhone4 upgrade is definitely worth some consideration; check out the chart below for some comparison between the various models.  The new iPhone releases June 24th at $199 for 16GB and $299 for 32 GB.
